Ha Long Bay in northern Vietnam is famous for its towering limestone karsts and emerald waters, with a tropical monsoon climate that brings cool dry winters (60-75°F / 15-24°C) from October to April and warm rainy summers (75-86°F / 24-30°C) from May to September. During the dry winter, you can kayak through the karst formations near Cat Ba Island or take a junk boat to floating fishing villages, while the misty summer afternoons are perfect for exploring Thien Cung Cave's ancient stalactites. If you prefer fewer crowds, visit in March or April when the weather is mild and the bay is less busy.
