Zugspitze is Germany's highest peak in the Bavarian Alps, with a climate that's cold and snowy in winter (averaging 20°F/-7°C) and mild in summer (around 50°F/10°C). You can ski on the glacier from November to April, then switch to hiking the 27-mile round-trip trail from Ehrwald for panoramic views of four countries.
